Cyprus has been a Member of the European Union since May 2004, and a Eurozone Member since January 2008.
The ‘Yellow Slip’ is available to EU citizens wishing to settle and work in Cyprus permanently without the need to renew. Non- EU dependents may also be included in the application and thus being eligible to benefit from the same rights as EU citizens.
LEGAL BASIS FOR THE CYPRUS YELLOW SLIP PROGRAMME
The Yellow Slip is granted by virtue of The Right of Union Citizens and their Family Members to Move and Reside Freely within the Territory of the Republic of Cyprus Law of 2007, (ANNEX III, Article 12(1).

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE CYPRUS YELLOW SLIP
The Yellow Slip is open to all EU nationals, and paves the way for Non-EU family members to obtain the right to stay and work in Cyprus.
DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
The Cyprus Yellow Slip may be obtained for different purposes including; work, self-employment and retirement in Cyprus. In this respect, the required documentation is specific to the category one is applying for.
QUALIFYING CRITERIA
Applicants are required to enter into a rental agreement or purchase a permanent residence, and have full cover health insurance in the Republic.
The Cypriot authorities require the applicant to be physically present for submitting the application, and he/she must ultimately demonstrate the intention to reside in the Island.
FAMILY MEMBERS
Upon obtaining the Yellow Slip, non-EU dependents become eligible to receive the ‘Pink Slip’, which is a similar document granting family members the right to reside and work in Cyprus.
The non-EU spouse and children are granted the “Pink Slip” which is a temporary and renewable document valid for five years.
To be able to obtain this document, family members must provide proof of the consistent relationship with the EU citizen.
